Here we go again with the
verse of the week משפט השבוע ! We decided to start this year with a beautiful, popular
Israeli song called: אני ואתה נשנה את העולם
Ani V’Atah Neshaneh Et HaOlam –
“You and I will change the world” in English.
This song
emphasizes our ability and obligation to make this world a better place to
live. It also indicates that it may sometimes be difficult to make change
in the world, though it is worth it.
The kids watched a
video with Israeli celebrities joining Israelis with hearing loss to sing the
song in sign language.
The kids were deeply
inspired. This song inspires our students, as they learn that they all
have the opportunity, and obligation, to make a difference.
in our Kabbalat
Shabbat / Rosh Hashanah celebration, we will sing this song as a
community. The lyrics are attached in transliteration so you can sing
along!
